VIRGINIA INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS COUNCIL, INC.
Enabling International Trade Success Since 1948™
Join us at our February 26th luncheon program:
2020 Vision: Protecting & Promoting Your Brand in an Age of Upheaval & Uncertainty
Featured Speaker: Brett Bruen, President, Global Situation Room

Risk has gone regular. The speed, scale, and sophistication of the reputational threats faced by businesses today is challenging traditional crisis tools and techniques. Former White House Director of Global Engagement and Georgetown professor of crisis communications Brett Bruen shares some of the latest skills and strategies companies, especially those expanding internationally, need to adopt in order to survive and thrive. He was responsible for leading early efforts, which a CNN investigation credited with successfully pushing back against Russian propaganda. Bruen also pioneered the use of a more proactive approach, called Counter-Crisis Communications on the National Security Council. From building crisis communications infrastructure and countermeasures to identifying and tracking emerging vulnerabilities, he will discuss how companies can be better prepared for the constant, complex challenges we are likely to see in 2020.

Established in 1948, The Virginia International Business Council, Inc. (VAIBC™) has had a distinguished history as a membership organization serving businesses engaged in or pursuing international trade and the wide range of professionals in the public and private sector that facilitate and enable international trade. Monthly luncheon programs provide networking and educational opportunities vital to success. We also periodically conduct special workshops featuring experts in the field on topics we believe to be especially timely and vital to our members, as well as several annual special events, which have historically included our December holiday party and spring golf outing. We actively support other Virginia trade organizations and events, and provide scholarships and other outreach to Virginia colleges and universities.
