VIRGINIA INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS COUNCIL
SCHOLARSHIP Policy and Application 2010
Four Awards - $1000, $750, $750 and $500
The Virginia International Business Council (VAIBC), adhering to the mission of supporting international business in its community, has established a Scholarship Program that awards scholarships to students attending the following Central Virginia institutions - Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Virginia State University (VSU), Virginia Union University (VUU), Randolph Macon College (RMC), and the University of Richmond (U of R). Scholarship awards will be paid directly to the recipients. The Virginia International Business Council is dedicated to educating its members, the members of the international business community and the community at large with respect to global business opportunities and challenges. It supports both secondary and higher education and encourages students at all levels to consider the field of international business as a career. Scholarship funds awarded to students are granted to support their international
study activities. To be eligible, students must be a rising undergraduate
junior or senior, or a graduate student, having a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
They must submit a written statement of their interest in international
business; include a faculty letter of recommendation and a copy of a current
unofficial transcript. Four awards will be given this year; one at $1000,
two at $750 and one at $500.
Virginia International Business Council Scholarships will be granted
each academic year. The VAIBC-Education Committee this year (2010)
will include Van R. Wood, My Lan Tran and George Hiller. All applications
must be received no later than Friday, March 26, 2010 by noon.
The screening committee will announce its selection(s) no later than April
9, 2010. All scholarship recipients will be notified by mail and
recognized at the VAIBC April 28, 2010 luncheon. Scholarship recipients
will also receive a one-year Virginia International Business Council membership.
Recipients will be allowed to receive the Virginia International Business
Council only one time. Minority and international students are strongly
encouraged to apply for this scholarship. Questions should be directed
